Keep on a-rockin', rockin' me baby!

So, Dawn dragged me out last night to see the Steve Miller Band. Oh yea, I said it...Space Cowboy! Wow, that was a show to behold. The most entertaining part was, obviously, ME (ha! just kidding), no, it was the people watching. Fan-freakin-tastic!!

This guy a few rows in front of us was the highlight of the night. He danced and danced and danced until he could dance no more! One of the girls in our group got a video of him and his artistic dancing abilities, and then had a chat with him later to find out that he has 143 video uploads of himself on YouTube!! It was entertaining for the night, but after review of his clips online, I just think he's a tool.

Jack...sick??!! No, he's going to live forever!

The past few days have been a bit on the scary side, in regards to Jackson's health. He decided he didn't want to walk, he peed on himself, and after about 24 hours of this behavior, he was carried in on a stretcher to the vet. They ran loads of blood tests only to find out they think he's got some kind of immune anemia. In laymen's terms, they think his body is at war with itself. We're hoping some steroids and antibiotics will help adjust his immune system and kick it back into regular gear. Keep him in your thoughts!!

1st night in big boy beds...you could call it a 'success'!!

This past weekend Todd took the boys to Athens to see Jammy/Grandy and Bob/Mika, leaving me at home to revamp their bedroom. We told them before they left that they would come home to "big boy beds" but I'm not sure they understood just EXACTLY how much work I was going to put into it. Thanks to one of Todd's co-workers, we got some cute hand-me-down quilts that were the ones big cousin Ryan had in his room until just recently. So, using some of the colors in the quilt and going with a "transportation" theme, we think it turned out really cute! Only the one picture is downloaded of when they woke up this morning, but I'll post more later. Three cheers for the big boy twins!!
The successful part of the night was that they didn't wake up. Even though Reed fell out of his bed at midnight, he stayed asleep on the floor! Todd heard a THUD and went in their room to find him curled up on the floor fast asleep. Too funny!

From Suburb ducks to Urban dining!

Every time we come home through Mountain Park, I tell the boys that "one day we'll come down here and feed the ducks!" Well, they held up their end of the deal today by taking good long naps and waking up in great moods! They loved feeding the ducks and didn't chase after them...too much.

Then, we headed down to the Highlands with the Goodloe's for yummy Doc Chey's and afterwards...Yoforia!

Super-Undies!!

So, we're trying to do a little potty training with the boys. They get the fact that you are supposed sit on the potty and make pee-pee. They get one PEZ for pee-pee and two for poo-poo. The only problem right now is that they are motivated by the candy and not the feeling of filling the toilet with their excrement. But, don't they look dang cute in their Thomas Underoos!?!?

Breaking and entering...the POOL!!!

This week we watched a fine pooch named Russell for our dear friends, the Pete-trio, while they vacationed at Hilton Head. We just couldn't let their pool get unused for an entire week, so we scooted over there and kept it occupied for a few hours.

Sweatin' to the carney's!

So, the carnival came to town and set up shop in the old Kroger parking lot on Mabry Rd and Hwy 92. (I think the weather complied with the road number it was on...92!!) It's definitly one of those pop-open-a-suitcase-and-out-comes-a-ferris-wheel-type travelling circus. While Reed was more apt to watch everyone else ride the rides, Nolan and his buddy Hannah were ready to jump on the next adventure.

Here's Hannah and Nolan cracking up at each other as the mini-train ran around the 8 foot circumfrance track.

The funniest thing was that Reed wanted to go on the Ferris Wheel. I was the reluctant one as it looked like it was manufactured out of thin sheets of cheap generic reynolds aluminum foil. Evan and I gave in and braved it with all three kids....once.

Sorry for Reed's hand blocking your face in this picture, Grandy, but as you can see, Reed was really enjoing the Carousel!!

This was ride #2 on the carousel and after my nauseating jaunt round and round, it was daddie's turn. They really need to set out barf buckets for the parents on these rides!!

Patterson x 3!!

We packed up our gear and headed to Warner Robins this past weekend because Matt, Tracie, and their newly adopted, cutie pie, 20-month-old, little china doll were visiting Matt's parents. Matt and I have been dear friends ever since our Recreation days at UGA. He's always been like a brother to me from the day we met. He and his wife of 10 years, Tracie, have been involved in the adoption process through the Chinese government for over 2 years. They finally got the "call", as in "we have a baby for you, get on a plane, and get out here to claim your child," in February of this year. They wasted no time getting airfare, making arrangements for their pups at home, and stepping into the anxious anticipation of becoming parents. Now, after having her for over 2 months, they are doing great and suiting up to be wonderfully loving parents and Miri is head over heels for her new 'rents!! If you'd like the check our their blog, it is as follows...journey2miri.chinastork.com
It's a really cool blog as they captured just about every exciting moment in China, before, during, and now after meeting their new babe.
We knew Reed and Nolan weren't going to nap much because we left after lunch for a 2 hour ride. About 45 minutes into the ride, I turned around and told the boys to quiet down, close their eyes, and take a nap. Reed was willing to ablidge and it took him all of 30 seconds to drift off to la-la-land.

Nolan, on the other hand....

This is Matt, Miri, and the boys sitting outside at Matt parent's house. This was the only picture I could get of the kids together as they were always on the move!

Amy and Emily...my new BFFs!!

Last night, Auntie Bryan and I went to Dahlonega to see the Indigo Girls, live in concert. They played in a tiny BBQ restaurant called The Crimson Moon which held no more than 65 people. It was called a "listening venue" because the girls only had their guitars and in the way of VH1 Storytellers, they would have a chat with us between songs as they tuned their guitars. Bryan and I were literally sitting within 8 feet of Emily!!! It was such a great experience and one that I'm pretty sure won't get repeated seeing as this dynamic duo normally sells out larger places like Chastain Ampitheater. "Multiply life by the power of two!!"

Mini or Sticky bunn?

The boys are having a great time at the pool this summer as they are learing how to hold their breath and put their faces under water. Just recently, they have discovered goggles and a whole new world below the water's surface! The only disadvantage to this type of goggles: Mommie has to remind them from time to time to breath through their mouth!!

THe British Twin-vasion

Nana and Poppa took a trip across the pond and brought back a few pieces of traditional English attire. I think I actually saw the queen at Wimbledon in one of the outfits Keely and Anna are wearing...and she wasn't wearing knickers, either!! Aaargh!!!! I mean, OY!

Happy Birthday, America!

I...... love a parade!

Our neighborhood put on a slightly better-than-average parade to celebrate the 4th of July. The firetruck led the brigade, and even though it's only 0.8 miles around, it felt like 10 miles with Reed on my back! The tricycles the boys were supposed to ride got ditched at the 0.1 mile marker and so we all huffed it by way of FOOT!

Seeing as the Pete's don't live in an organized "neighborhood" of sorts, they come to partake in the Southlands festivities from time to time. This time may be their last for the participation aspect of the parade seeing as Mr. Pete had to tote Charlie and Nolan along the route via crooked-wheeled-wagon. But, they all loved it!

Jackson, Nekoh, and Rusty (all 4-legged children) participated in the stampeed as well. After the jaunt, Jackson was tuckered out next to the lemonade stand just hoping a shaky-handed 2 or 3 year old would spill some of the cool stuff down his throat!
