Hollywood Brothers

Today is "hollywood day" at school for the boys. I'm not really sure what they wanted them to dress up as, so I interpreted it the way I wanted. The only pair of Hollywood brothers I could come up with (that I could make t-shirts to resemble) were Charlie Sheen and Emelio Estevez! Emelio is known for his role in the movie "The Mighty Ducks" so I fashioned a semi-replica jersey from the movie and ironed "Estevez" on the back of his shirt. Reed has no idea who he is, he just thinks he's wearing a hockey jersey! And, we all know Charlie Sheen's antics lately and his catch-phrase "winning", so Nolan think's he's helping Reed "win" the hockey game. It's too funny...for us anyhow!

Sunday funday

After a long afternoon of swimming at the Fieldstone pool, we had dinner at Nana and Poppa's house. And what better to end the evening than with ice cream!!

On the way home, the boys decided they had to pee so bad they were almost "going to pee themselves!" So, we stopped on the side of road and 75% of the car got out to relieve themselves.

G'day, Mate!

Last Friday I picked the boys up early from school (which they were totally excited about), we went to lunch, stopped by my office to work for a minute, then went to Brookhaven to meet up with a near and dear friend, Anita and her family. She was in town, briefly, from Austrailia and had time to make a quick stop in Atlanta to visit some old friends of hers...and us! Her baby, Romany, turned 1 on the 21st and is so dang cute!

We love visiting with our Aussie mates!

~Mommie, you can go~

Scene: Sitting at a red light this morning on the way to take the boys to school.
Nolan: Mommie, you can go.
Mommie: No, buddy, I have to wait for the light to change from red to green, then I can go.
Nolan and Reed together: No, when the gingerbread man, that means you go.
Mommie: (looking around confused, either looking for a real gingerbread man, a guy in a costume, or a guy with red hair, I finally realized that they think the "walk guy" on the crosswalk is a gingerbread man.)
It's the little things that make you smile :o)

"Cheeks"

On the way home from the pool today, Nolan informed me that he needed to go to the bathroom (#2, real bad). I told him that we were almost home, to hold it, and squeeze his cheeks. This was how he interpreted my directions...hahaha!

What were the twins up to this past weekend?

All 3 boys headed to Athens to pay a visit to Jammy and Grandy and tear A-town up! They saw Cars 2 (again) and then headed to Buffalo's to meet Reed's new girlfriend, Camille (a friend of Bob and Mika). Apparently, he was smitten!

This is the guy that paints his bald head for every UGA game...and he became a "fan" of Reed and Nolan's! They have no idea who he is, but they'll appreciate the signed photo he gave them when they get older.

Of course they got to see BOB!!

Then, they went to Memorial Park where there is a small playground, a lot of space to run and...

BEARS!!! There are also owls, eagles, alligators and other animals Todd sent, but this was such an impressive picture of a beautiful black bear.

Yummy yogurt treat!

The boys got to meet up with the Allen clan (Corrina and Mia) at their house where they played hide-and-go-seek and just ran around the yard...a fun past time for most small kids!

FISH caught a FISH!?!

Nolan looks like he's bringing home supper!

Thank you to Jammy and Grandy for entertaining the boys all weekend and I hope you are getting the rest you deserve!

Dining in the 'Swell

Saturday night we went out to eat in downtown Roswell and these two just wanted to ham up the camera! CHEEEEESE!

Meat...it's what's for dinner

'Thank yous' resonate in the munching sound coming from my wolf-like dog, devouring what can only be described as swine part. Dawn and Poppa worked hard getting the edible meat off the bone, but this pooch worked like a dawg at the remnants! Mmmm, hungry?!?

Fox Farm Bluberry Pickin'

While daddie was having a man-day playing golf today, the boys and I decided to head up north (Calhoun-woohoo) to pick some fresh blueberries! I didn't realize how tall the bushels were and the boys could only reach a few.

But, they had fun running down what looked like a secret garden's paths! I told them the look for the darkest blue berries they could find and I kept hearing "mommie, can I pick the green ones?" NO!!

So, they decided to take things down to their level and found a field of flowers...and filled their blueberry bags with weeds. Good work, guys!

I meant to take a picture of the actual bucket of berries we picked, but forgot. So, here's what's left over after we made...

Cobbler! YUMMMMMM!! All in a day's work :o)

Cowboy, meet Boycow!

Well, it wouldn't be a day at Big Boy School if it wasn't for "dress as your favorite something or another". Today was Cowboy day. Unfortunately, I found out of this dress up day no sooner than yesterday at 3:30pm, when I went to pick them up. So, needless to say, we improvised! Reed was the cowboy and Nolan happily abliged his crazy mother and went to school as a cow. What a team player! (or, it could have been the fact that I asked him while he was playing video games! Aha! I found the key to compromise...distraction!) Yehaw and Moo, ya'll :o)

July 4th (part 2)

Happy Birthday, America!!

What a fun day! We went to the local catholic church in Roswell to get ready for the days/nights festivities and fireworks. Reed and Nolan made some new friends but when asked what their new friends' names were, "Uh, I dunno," was all we got. Oh, the joys of being a kid and just having fun with other kids regardless of their ages, status, or social skills...must be nice!

Two visions in white, if I do say so myself!

We ate cookout food, played soccer and lacross and then threw snap-pops at the ground...or the adults feet, which ever came closer. These kids were ruthless! All except for sweet, sweet Charlie. He just had a blast watching the other kids laugh at our pain ;o)

And then came the rain. We thought we were in the clear after the 5 o'clock shower, but the 8pm downpour had us all running for the hills! We tried to stick it out as long as we could, but when there was no sign of clearing up in sight, we packed everything up and headed home. Fireworks on tv just aren't the same! Maybe Mother Nature will be kinder to us next year.

Happy Bday, America~ (part one)

Wow, July already! This year is half over and we still have so much fun stuff to do...starting today. Our neighborhood had their 4th of July parade around the 0.8mi loop, but this year we decided to spectate instead of participate. It was too dang hot! We still headed down to the park to partake in lemonade, stickers, tatoos, and yes, the firetruck.

After an afternoon of napping and cooling off, we'll be headed to see some fireworks!
