Whattaya have?

Yesterday, the boys took a field trip to Publix to check out the innerworkings of a grocery store. They got to tour the freezer and even purchase a few groceries. The highlight of the trip for Reed was wearing the hairnet, which he kept on almost all night last night. I kept telling him he looks like a worker from The Varsity!

LSU...boo, boo, boo!

This past weekend, Jammy and Grandy took us to the GymDawgs meet in Athens. I can't believe in all 3 years that I went to UGA, I did not attend a single meet! We had such a blast and the boys really got into it.

They competed against LSU and the boys were chanting their infamous cheer against the tigers...L-S-U, BOO, BOO, BOO!

We did find something out...they DON'T like cotton candy!!!!

Whose kids are these!?! They look like they are enjoying it in these pictures, but 2 bites later they gave it back and said "I don't like it!"

Adults can have fun, too!

Pete and Charlie came over for a playdate last week and although Charlie wasn't as enthused to play with the boys this time, he did get a kick out of tickle-time! Don't ask why the twins don't have shirts on, I don't know either.

Pete and I decided to get in a little fun of our own. Transformers...more than meets the eye!

Heart Songs

This is such a sweet way to come back to my family after having been out of town for the longest that I have ever been. Thanks, Reed-fish for making my day :o)

The stars at night, are big and bright...

Deep in the heart of TEXAS!! Last week Bogie, Ashley, and I surprised big Al for a fun girls weekend at her house in San Antonio. We crept into her bed while she was sleeping and surprised the heck out of her! We went to the Alamo and the River Walk and had a nice afternoon cocktail.

Had some fantastic BBQ at a local hot spot called Auggies. YUM!

And, just overall, had a fantastic time.

Gives new meaning to the phrase "hard-headed"

Every morning I wake up in awe of the fact that my "active" twins still have 10 fingers and 10 toes, each. Today seemed like a normal morning as we were rushing around getting ready to leave for school and work. I asked Nolan to go let the dogs in, and like a big boy always wanting to help, he ran into the den...and then there was a crash. Now, having 2 "active" boys, I am used to hearing things crash and not running into the other room to see what happened. This time I should have. Nolan came crying his bloody, literally, head off into the kitchen where I was. This is what we found to have happened to our door, I mean, his head.

After a little TLC, some glass removal, and the promise of cars gummies, he was playing and acting like a normal "active" child. Oye, vay! If this is a precursor to the rest of his childhood, I just might surround him in bubble wrap and stick him in a padded room!

"I pulled it out!"

Well...he had a little help. Tonight, Nolan was tired with a capital cry-baby, so i was holding him while brushing his teeth. I may have brused a little too hard on that certain tooth and all of a sudden he stopped dead in his tracks. Mommie! Wait! I pull out my tooth!!! He was so excited and was showing it off to all of us while dancing around the house. He couldn't wait to go to bed so the toothfairy can come and bring him a dollar. Way to go, Nolan!

Puppy Love

Yesterday I took Polly down to the tennis courts and a girl on my tennis team has a 4 month old chocolate lab named, Charlie. He was so cute and Polly was smitten! They ran around like crazy for over an hour and Polly pooped out for the rest of the night.

She ain't heavy...

That didn't hurt!

Nana had knee surgery last week and came out dancing like Ginger Rogers! Really, she did a great job, the surgery was a success, and she's recovering quite well. Get out the jumpropes and trampolines because Nana's going to start out jumping all of us! Love you, Nana :o)

2 little monkeys, jumping on the bed

This is the scene I get when I'm in the bathroom trying to get their bath water ready. All I hear is laughing and carrying on. When I call out to my bedroom, "what are you guys doing?" They quickly respond "NOTHING!" And this is what I see. Houligans...

Just like my big brother

So far, Polly has done fantastic on the leash. I think she wants to impress her big brother so badly, that she doesn't notice how well she's doing! Way to go, girl!

Future Carpenters of America

Last Saturday was the "bring your kids to Home Depot and build something you'll throw away eventually" day. This time, they assembles little money houses, and as much as these two loooooove money, it'll actually be used!

Snackin' Toes

Think he'll still be this flexible in 30 years?!?! Eew, Nolan, gross.

Last week of vacation (for the boys)

This ends the boys' last week of holiday vacation from Pre-K. Thank you to everyone who watched the little buggers while Todd and I worked. Nana-the boys keep talking about how cool the lego thing was, thanks for taking them! Jammy/Grandy-there have been many more requests for you to have a sleepover, so get ready!
Today we gave Polly her first bath. It was time to wash the "shelter-stink" off of such a cutie pie. She did very well and didn't mind being scrubbed down. This picture was taken courtesy of Mr Reed McLure. What a photographer!

Poor little Polly-Prissy-Pants had to spend the night at the vet last night. Her little leg was shaved so they could place an IV with fluids to perk her up. She wasn't feeling that great the other day and Jammy, Grandy and the boys were nice enough to take her. The vet first thought she had parvo (very fatal in puppies), but it turned out that she just had a wicked tapeworm. Eew, but PHEW!! We can deal with worms, but parvo is an ugly monster.

This picture makes me smile because Reed said "here mommie, take a picture of how cute we are!"

Reed helped me make pizza the other night for dinner. I think he did more eating of the cheese before it got placed on the za.

This is how a puppy spends the day with Mommie at work. I think this was the day she started feeling less than wonderful as she really slept most of the day away here on this little frog. But it was so cute!!

Principessa Pollyanna di Sylvester

Happy New Year! 2011 was a fun, adventurous, busy year. What could make 2012 any better? Why, a new puppy, of course!! I drove to Macon, which was halfway to where she was sheltered, to pick her up. We found her on petfinder.com and there was only 1 picture of her, but I knew we had to have her. Nekoh hasn't warmed up to her just yet, but one of these days he'll come around. Everybody else adores her!!!

Not enough time in the day...

So, I was really bad and didn't get a picture of Frances, but we did get the chance to go pick her up, go to lunch and a movie, and also visit with her Grandmother. Frances was so sweet to get the boys some remote control cars, which they LOVE, and we all had a fun time hanging out. The boys were so tired from such a busy day, they could hardly hold on to their new toys on the way back to Chrissy's.

We stayed with my friend, Chrissy, who has 2 boys; Jameson and Zachary. They are 11 and 10, respectively, and all 4 boys got along quite well. Here they are shirtless wrestling on Chrissy's bed. Zach SWEARS it was Reed's idea. The crazy thing is, I believe it!

Chrissy has a sweet puppy named Daisy who Reed was ga-ga over.

Seriously, Nolan?!! We spent over 4 hours in the car trying to get home, we finally get home, get settled and unloaded and what does Nolan want to do? Sit in my car and play his leapster. Really?!? Weirdo.

Hellooooo, Queen City!

Last week the boys and I had some free time so we packed up the wagon and headed to Charlotte to see the sights and visit with friends. I took this picture as we were getting off the exit to show the boys where mommie and daddie used to live. The old house still looks the same and the neighborhood is still as cute as ever!

Our first stop was at Dawn Fike's house. She has a 7-year-old and twin 3-year-olds. The kids had so much fun on all of their motorized vehicles going up and down the driveway.

Reed and Nolan took a particular fancy to the pink and purple barbie jeep. Oh, I love the blackmail pictures for when they're in high school!

Here are all of the twins...Reed, Nolan, Sawyer and AbbyJane.

Christmas Day

We spent a few hours of Christmas Day at Bobby and Emogene's house for a wonderful meal and good company with family. These three beautiful ladies have done a lot of work over the years to keep family ties close at hand. Thanks, Crowder-gals!

Reed and Nolan were spoiled completely, as always, and received a ton of cool toys, games, and hugs and chicks.

Nothing could have ended Christmas Day better for me than the whole family gathered around a roaring fire, munching on popcorn and sipping hot cocoa while watching The Polar Express. I think this is going to become a new tradition for the McLure's!
