Boys' First Bikes!!!

Jammy and Grandy came for the weekend and completely WORE the boys out from head to toe! We drove all over Woodstock/Roswell/Marietta to find 2 of the same Spiderman bikes with training wheels for the boys to learn and play on. FYI, the Marietta Wal-Mart has about a 22.5% mark up on their items compared to the Woodstock wally world...and they're just 6 miles apart! Please, someone explain that to me!!

Anyhow, after 2 Wal-Marts, 1 Target and lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, the boys got their dream first bikes and rode to their little hearts' content after their nap. We were really surprised that they picked up on it so quickly. No bumps, bruises, or scrapes today, from the bike ride anyways. Flip flops pose yet another threat of a skinned knee and stubbed toe! Tricky shoes!!!

Who played hookey from work today?

Today, my lovely boss, Johanna Jenkins, decided to treat the staff to a day out at Turner Field. We rescheduled all the patients and headed to the stadium around noon. It's amazing how many great memories the Braves bring back...Sean, remember when Dad and Barry would take us to the Varsity before going to the Braves game at Fulton County Stadium?!?

Today proved to be another great day for a ballgame and the Braves made it a nailbiter in the bottom of the 9th inning. Conrad hit a grandslam to win the game 10-9. Way to go Braves!!

Three Cheers for Nana!

Today Elkins Pointe Middle school celebrated the retirement of 3 of it's most valuable employees. Of course, our Nana was the MVP of the group!!

Mom's BFF, Chris, made this amazing cake that tasted even better than it looked...if that's possible!

There were a couple munchkins, and Burke, that were running around and too busy to pose for the picture, but we were able to wrangle a few. We're so glad to have been there to support you today, Nana!! SLAWBM sent a beautiful bunch of roses to her office and that put a smile on her retiring face.

Workin' at the car wash, yea!

Today was a great day for a run at the Chatachoochee Park followed by hours of fun at the playground. After about 10 tries a piece, Reed figured out how to slide down the Fireman's Pole by himself!! When he finally perfected it, he shouted "bye bye playground" and ran for the car!

Nothing like the absence of child labor laws at the McLure household. I thought I was giving the boys a lesson on how to wash a car properly...the real lesson came in the form of --never leave two boys alone with a bucket of water and 2 shamwows! I only have video of outcome, but they had a blast and my car got a little cleaner.

Our very own...Keely Lou Retton!

Keely did an excellent job at her gymnastics performance on Saturday. From the beam, to the vault, to the uneven bars, she's a Superstar Goodloe! Linde and Leah had their performance earlier in the day and if their mommy loves them at all, she'll post some pictures....hahaha, sorry Dawn!

Gardening...with SOME help...

The boys decided to help me do a little yard work this afternoon, taking a break from their usual basketball, hockey, golf, tennis, and football activities. Nolan was a little more intrigued with the gardening gloves and pulling the ivy out by the roots, each time grunting "ungh!" Reed, on the other hand, had a more exciting way of spending his time...thanks, Fish!
