I have made...tulips!

Usually, I plant these things and forget about them because they never amount to anything. This year, however, is the year of the Green Thumbed Bunn! I'm so excited and since this photo has been taken, even more have blossomed. Next project...azaleas in the front where the ugly boxwood-things have already been removed. Woohoo!

From Pele to Jose

As in "No Way Jose." This past weekend the boys had their first soccer games of the season. On Saturday, they had a nice little practice before the game and everything was going smoothly. But, when it was time for the game, Reed decided his talents were put to better use by riding the pine (sitting on the bench). Nolan took off and scored 12 goals! The coach had to keep sitting him out saying "hey, why don't you take a rest" which I think is code for "hey, you're too good, give the other kids a chance." Every time the ball was in play, Nolan was right on top of it, dribbling towards the goal and shooting to score.

This was Reed's view from all of the first game on Saturday and 90% of the second game on Sunday. He did get in the game on Sunday and tried to play with the other kids. The funniest part was when he got called in the game, and like the proud mama I am shouted "yea, Reed! Go, Reed, GO!" To which he responded with "Stop saying that, Mommie!!!" The rest of the game he had excuse after excuse--my leg hurts, my back is hot, and just plain old 'no'-but he did at least try for a few minutes. Maybe it's just not his thing! Hey, he is getting really good at the Michael Jackson Experience on the Wii.

Show mommie how the little piggies eat!

Is this what parents talk about when kids eat them out of house and home(wares)?!? I think I've created a couple of monsters.

Just Reading...

This was the sight I came out of my shower to this morning. Reed, sitting on my bathtub, in my slippers, reading the Pottery Barn Kids catalog. When I asked what he was looking at, he replied "I'm just reading!" The next line out of his cute little mouth was "mommie, I have a surprise for you, but I don't want you to hold it, just smell my pull up." Uh, no thanks, bud. Why don't you just TELL me it's dry. I promise I'll believe you!

8 Years and Counting

Today marks our 8th anniversary of matrimony! I can't believe it's been that long...it actually SEEMS longer, eh hun? Ha, just kidding. Last night at dinner I told the boys that today we will have been married 8 years, Nolan says "You get married 8 years? So, who is coming to watch us, Jammy?!?" He thought we were going to get married today and he'd swindle another day with his favorite Athens G-ma! Happy anniversary, hon, and many more to come!

What else, you ask?

Last week was a fun week full of out of the ordinary things. First, the boys and I took Polly to the vet for a check up and this lovely lady was there for her check up! Her name is Mrs. Truffles and she was just a-snortin' away. The boys really didn't know what to think of her and I'm pretty sure Nolan was just trying to show her his football card.

Next, the boys earned their belts in karate! They are so cute in their little ghee's and super excited to be called to the front of the class to get their belts.

I'm not sure the boys have had many encounters with geese, but these little guys looked almost peaceful, until one decided to come on shore to see what we were all about. He didn't charge, but looked like the 'tough guy' of the group to let us know he might think about it!

Charlie and Pete joined us for dinner one night and lunch on Sunday. This night he left the house unscathed. But after yesterdays fiascoes, I'm sure Pete will think twice about NOT bubble wrapping him before his next visit. C'mon, Pete! He's a BOY for crying out loud! :o)

Thanks, Jammy!

Jammy was so sweet to come over and spend the night with us to let Todd and I go out to celebrate our 8th anniversary. Thanks, Jammy! She even treated the boys to the 3D showing of The Lorax. The boys loved it and had tons o' fun!
