UGA vs EKU

Today was another first in the McLure household. Their first UGA basketball game!! I really don't know who was more excited...the boys for going, Jammy and Grandy for taking us, or daddie for taking his boys. It was quite an exciting game as they were neck and neck all game long. But loads of alli-oops by us and missed 3 pointers by them, we came out with a win! Way to go Dawgs!

Hairy Dawg seemed to be the most infamous event at the game. He hung around our section for the majority of the afternoon and the boys gave him more high-5's and hugs than twinly possible.

Macy's Pink Pig

Since 1953, Pricilla the Pink Pig has been in operation to delight Atlantans and visitors of the city during the Christmas season. She started in the basement of Rich's department store but when it closed in '91, they moved her to Egleston and there they found it was too expensive to run. They closed her down in '95 and donated her to the Atlanta History Museum. Then, she was brought back to life as they updated and restored her on the top parking deck of Macy's in 2003. Long story short, you can't find too many native Atlantans that haven't heard of her (Sean and Erika excluded!!). Today, the boys and I paid homage to our southern roots and Atlanta culture and took a ride on the pig! The boys loved it!!

Snowfall in Woodstock

Christmas day, 2010 showed us that Atlanta CAN have a snowfall that sticks!! It's been since the 1800s that this city has seen the white precipitation accumulate...and accumulate it did! It snowed all day Xmas day and into the night. The flakes were big and fluffy and wet. Not enough to play in while it was coming down, but the next day...

Here's the snowman we built in our front yard. Well, the boys and daddie started helping, but when their gloves got wet and their hands got cold, they bailed! So, mommie did her mommie duty and finished the icy man herself.

Santa Claus came to the McLure's!

He left out the front door...jingling his bells all the way up in the sky! We had to wake Reed up out of a deep sleep and entice him downstairs with the promise of gifts galore.

He left cool stuff in our stockings, like watches and DVDs!

The boys are digging through their stockings trying to squeeze out every last gift from the fur to the toe!

Santa left presents wrapped under the tree! Some were to share and some were for each of the boys.

The 2-wheeled scooter was the hit of the morning. The boys rode them around the house all day long...mainly because it was too cold to ride them outside!!

Comfortable, Reed?

Apparently, sleeping in your bed is waaaay overrated! The floor is a much more pleasant place to rest your weary body. And, as long as you have FOX to use as a pillow, you're set!

Going on a trip?

Lindsay: What are you guys doing?
Nolan: We're going bye-bye!
Lindsay: Where are you going?
Nolan: We're going to see Santa!!
Lindsay: Santa? Where does he live?
Reed: In the boar cole!

Cookies and Milk with SANTA

YAY! It's that time of year again that Dawn's neighbor has her annual cookies and milk holiday party with Santa. Reed and Nolan did a great job sitting on Santa's lap and posing for pictures. When Santa asked Reed what he wants for Xmas, Reed said he wants "three presents." That's it. Nothing specific. Just 3. After Nolan's shyness wore off, he finally told Santa that he wanted some sort of red motorcycle. I'm guessing it was because he found one in the toy room and was holding it in his hand all day! Typical.

Keely couldn't make it because she wasn't feeling well, but the rest of the Goodloe clan made their presence known! They all did so well posing with Santa in the photo and Linde didn't even cry...WAY TO GO, LINDE!

Southlands Holiday Party 2010

With so many young couples in The Southlands, a few of us decided to get together and have a little party with our kiddos at Casa McLure. We had fun watching all the kids interact with each other and the adults had a great time getting to know one another a little better. And, there's nothing like sangria to make a party POP! Poor Matt was the only other guy to show up! All the other girls thought it was a ladies/kids party. Way to go chicas! Next time READ the invite!!! Hahahaha, Todd and Matt didn't seem to mind.

This is Grant, Casey and Matt's kid. He's only about 4 months younger than Reed and Nolan, and loves playing with cars!

Reed loves his little buddy, Jolie. She was smitten when she got to take a picture with him. Check out the little cheeky grins on these two! Priceless!

Cori and Dottie are considering putting their boys in Pre-K next year at Kids R Kids with Reed and Nolan. Uh-oh, this could be trouble for the neighborhood if all 4 boys are in the same class ;o).

Brothers gotta hug!

McLure Family Xmas

Oh my! What a busy weekend! I can't believe of all the pictures I normally take, my camera didn't even grace my fingertips this past weekend. But, to sum it up (picture-less), we had our McLure family xmas at Jammy and Grandy's house in Athens. The boys racked up on all sorts of cool toys, puzzles, cars, bubbles, gloves, and really wicked lettermen-style UGA jackets. We think they had more fun pulling all the paper out of the bags than actually looking to see what was in them! Todd's longtime buddy from childhood, Paul, got married this weekend as well. Todd wasn't able to attend the actual wedding due to a dasterdly gastro illness that kept him feeling yucky all day. He did rally later that night and made an appearance at the after party where he was welcomed with open (inebriated) arms! Congrats to Paul and Tonya and thank you to Jammy and Grandy for a crazy fun weekend.

Reed and Nolan's new BFF's

This weekend "Krispy", J-man, and Cornbread came from Charlotte for a visit. Saturday night all the boys had a movie night and the feature film was The Polar Express. Thanks to Todd, Krispy and I got to enjoy a night out on the town. Reed and Nolan have found some cool kids to hang out with and the big boys were sooooo good with them! What fun!

Happy Birthday, Ry-man!!

WOW! 2010 December 8 means Ryan turns DOUBLE DIGITS! We'll have to see if he feels any older today than he did yesterday. Hope you have a great day at school and get all the good presents you want, buddy!
P.S. Your mom and dad told me they got you and iPad! And, one for Bill the fish, too!!!

Woodstock Christmas Parade 2010

We took the boys to the huge metropolis of downtown Woodstock for the Christmas parade and lighting of the tree. They had a great time looking at all the lights and getting candy canes pelted at them from all angles. Yes, I think the parade participants actually take lessons on how to poke a by-stander's eye out with a single tootsie roll!

Here's the Grinch!

And the biggest hit of the night...SANTA!! Nolan kept saying "that's MY santa! Santa!! I have candy!!" So cute! -^_^-

The award for houseguest of the week goes to...

Russel J. Tuttle!!!
And no, Pete, Nekoh has NOT tried to make an avant guarde (Rusty's) fur lined look for next season's runway show. The boys have been having a great week and after all the attention and treats he's been getting here, I'm quite sure he won't want to go back to a cat infested home. Nekoh has graciously offered to go in his place...just for a few hours!!

Sapp-tastic!

At first when Todd sent me this text, I thought "WOW! An ESPN commercial...in Alpharetta?" I pictured this big 'ol football player tackling account exec's, tearing through cubicles, and eating a xerox machine for lunch. Sadly, none of the aforementioned happened. It did just so happen that Warren Sapp's agent has become a partner with Todd's company and wanted to bring him in like a show-and-tell action figure. It's still a pretty cool day at work, you have to admit.

P.S. Todd--no matter how many hard hits WS has dished out and recieved in his football career, I still think you can take him!!

Outfit check...looks good!

Today, Daddie picked out the boys' outfits for the day and I think he did a pretty good job! Um, maybe we could take a comb to the hair though, eh?!? Have a great Thursday!
